Shake it shake shake it.
I was craving a Cinnamon Tahini Date Shake the other day, so I purchased a big ole jar of tahini when really I only needed a couple tablespoons.
Besides producing a vat of creamy hummus, I decided to whip up another shake… of the chocolate variety.
Because of course.
Otherwise that jar of tahini would go untouched in my fridge, since I’m not a fan of smearing the bitter stuff on toast like other savages.
But paired with a little natural sweetness to round out its bite, tahini can be quite lovely.
For this shake equation, I blended frozen ripe banana slices, tahini, cacao powder, pure vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, real deal maple syrup, toasted coconut almond milk, plus a pinch of sea salt to bring out all that flavor.
After drizzling on luscious melted dark chocolate, which proceeded to harden like magic shell I might add, I enjoyed the delightful treat for breakfast hehe.
P.S. If you’re wondering, what is tahini?? It’s simply ground sesame seeds aka sesame butter.
P.P.S. As always taste and adjust the ingredient amounts to suit your buds!
P.P.P.S. I personally believe this shake makes for a well-rounded breakfast, snack, or dessert, since there’s fruit, protein, fat, andd fiber involved.
